And it's Day 1 ladies, so it's time to make good on our promises to ourselves and each other! Goodluck today ladies, contact me for anything

The last two days have been hard for me, but I'm going to get back on track! I'll be drinking my water today!! It's been a slooooooooow motivation... but I'm hanging in there. As long as I make some progress by Jan 2009, I'll feel good. It's in the front of my mind, so that helps.

You are not a fat slob and you are going to look great on your vacation If you are going to order out or go out and make it something that is healthy or at least portion control. I learned

I have been pretty good about 90% of the time. I have been drinking my water which makes me happy, and I definitely feel a bit lighter. I am going to weight myself tomorrow at the home of where I babysit. I have come to realize that I shouldn't own a scale as I am OCD-ish and weigh myself constantly, before i tinkle and after i tinkle, before i eat and after i eat and then i weigh myself in each room on the house to see where I am the skinniest, I'm a nut!

I have the same scale problem. When the batteries died in the scale I let it go because I would always fret over what the results would be.

Portion control isnt a problem luckily. I eat less than what most people normally do, I just have zero metabolism. I'm not a snacker. Not big on sweets. I love oreo cookies and can eat the entire package in a sitting just about but I don't buy them so I don't have the temptation. I don't buy any candy, cookies, cakes, ice cream and chips so I rarely ever have them.

I did go to the dr last night for some results and it turns out I have PCOS and I'm insulin resistant so thats one of the reasons I'm having such a tough time. So hopefully the medication will help.

Yay for going to the Dr and finding a medication that may help!

Gosh are they going to put you on Metformin, they diagnosed me wrongly last year because they thought I was diabetic or borderline and I nearly went into a coma, my sugar level was normal the metformin was dropping my sugar too low, I would sleep 19 hours a day, my body was hibernating itself to preserve energy.

Just be careful with it and let your Doc know if you are not feeling yourself

I am no nutritionist but I have the same problem. Maybe your problem is the lack of snacking. Try snacking on carrots ( I know Veggies lol) or just something healthy, this will help boost your metabolism. For prom time I really wanted to get my metabolism up there so I would snack on a couple of slices of wheat bread the entire day, it definitely helped.

Re: So we promised: Day 4

I've been having problems with my period for the past year, prior to that I was on birth control since I was 17 (I'm 27 now). My period comes whenever it feels like, sometimes every 68 days, sometimes 80, sometimes 14. There were some hormone levels that were off, insulin level was off.
Acne on my face, back and chest. Excessive facial hair (while I know many women suffer, the women in my family really dont. I was always the only one) I have hairy hands, feet, upper lip, and chin.

Edited to add: This wasnt a reg gyn that diagnosed me. I've been going to an Reproductive Endocrinologist. As of now, I'm not ovulating so if I wanted to have kids this very moment I couldnt without assistance.

Same here, the doc saw the excess hair and extra weight on me, plus i have a dark neck which is an indictor or future or onset diabetes plus there's a long line of diabetics in my family including my mother who got it gestationally with me, so she put me on it. I didn't even know that it had to do with PCOS until i researched when i was getting sick.

I just wanted to add that I had a bad response to metformin also (and my dr put me on it for no reason!!! urgh stupid people). Just pay attention to your body if thats what your dr puts you on. Sora, did your dr test for thyroid problems also? Just curious bc hypothyroidism can cause hormonal problems and slow metabolism/weight gain. Just something to look into!

yes and my thyroid function is normal. they ran a bunch of tests and most of them more than once, I've had several sono, 24 urine collections, fasting blood tests, glucose tolerance test. Since I'm not ovulating, the goal here is to get that started again. Hopefully the metformin will do that.

I pray that Metformin works well or you and that you become regular once again, we are here for you, if you need anything at all
