So my friend with the positive (but faint) hpt lines (10 of them!) got her blood test and no baby!
Of course, she is very upset. Still no period, she was due on Friday. I am just confused...doesn't that line happen when you produce the pregnancy hormone? Is there any other reason why it would come up?

That is weird!!! She has levels of HCG in her system for some reason. I cant explain it. I hope someone can Im DYING to know.

That is very strange. I would suggest to your friend that she act as if she's prego (meaning no alcohol etc.) and if she doesn't get her period in another week to have another blood test.

That is weird! I've read that false positives are rare. I have heard of chemical pregnancies, which may give a + result, but I don't know a lot about it.

If she doesn't get AF by Sunday she needs to HPT again. If the line is darker than she needs to go right back to the doctor. Remember- doctors make mistakes too.
If the line is still faint, tell her to bring it to the doctor's office with her. Something is going on.

Jenny, that happened to a friend of mine. I think they called it a chemical or 'phantom' pregnancy. It was very disappointing. My best wishes to your friend. I hope she has happy news to share SOON!
