So we're supposed to report 'suspicous' stuff, right?

So we're supposed to report 'suspicous' stuff, right?
After reading about what happened in Spain yesterday I thought I should tell the police about a man I saw in late January on the LIRR. The guy wasn't doing anything other than flipping through the Koran and looking nervous - leg shaking, hand tapping. Now, I would never think reading the Koran is suspicous activity at all - hey, my grandma carries rosary beads in her pocketbook, so what's wrong with public praying? But the nervousness made me wonder. Here is the deal:
1. The train was held in Penn Station as a state trooper made his way through the cars, looking around.
2. The guy was Muslim, and well, it was a Muslim terrorist group that attacked before.
If it was just 1 and 2, I would't say anything. BUT, after what happened in Spain yesterday, I thought I should. So I tell the police at the little police room in Penn Station, and guess what? They said 'people pray all the time'!! I was like 'I know that, but in light of everything that has happened in NY and then in Spain, I thought I should tell someone.' They said 'OK, thanks'. I got the impression they thought I was a nutjob.
Moral of the story: this all su@#s. You can't win. You either report stuff and feel like an A$$, or you don't report it and feel guilty. UGH. Thanks for letting me vent!

That's all they said...wow...no wonder why we're in trouble...
I take the subway and there are always those posters about reporting suspicious activity...I guess this is a lesson for us to report it AS SOON AS WE SEE IT!!!

Yeah, you're right, in hindsight I probably should have said something right away, except that I didn't think it was right because the guy wasn't doing anything weird. But maybe he was? UGH!!!!!!!!!

I know. You never know...You just never know...I am suspicious of everyone... But you can drive yourself crazy... It's sad... It's all so terrible... My FH got off a train once because he saw a woman wrapped in garb praying feverishly and sweating...I mean...What else can you do? My mom and I found a funny package at the Staten Island ferry terminal...We reported it and immediate action was taken...So, I say IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING!! Don't stop until someone listens!

Yes, I told them yesterday because of the Spain thing. I remember what the guy looked like, so I could describe him if they asked or look at pictures, whatever. But what I'm saying is at the time that it happened I didn't think that it was suspicous.
