Fh is turning 30 in December....I am throwing him a surprise party...I narrowed my choices down to melting pot and blue resturant....
now with the melting pot...we have been there and i know he loves it! the thing is....the drink situation....i have two choices bec i am not making a cash bar an option...1. i can choose as many drinks i want to be on the menu (this is to ensure people will not order $100 bottle of wine) 2. i can do an open bar and pay the tab (which makes me nervous bec some of his friends are huge drinkers)
or
i can throw the party at the blue resturant.... i have not been there, so i do not know if we love it....(altho have heard amazing reviews) also...it is more money but it will be more of a 'party' setting as oppsed to the sit down dinner setting...and open bar is included...
I have one other option to look into but i wanted to first narrow down these two options....
thoughts???
thanks!

Re: So do you think...
for the drinking situation at melting pot...i owuld pre-choose th emenu of drinks. i dont think anyone would be mad about that, i've been to many parties where its pre-selected, people will be thankful to just have alcohol lol
as for Blue, it kind of depends what type of feel you want...do you want it to be party like or more of a social sit down?

I have been to a number of things at Blue and it is fantastic!!! I would reccomed there to get more of the lounge party vibe. Melting pot is great too but will everyone have to cook theor own food for the party also? People might not be into that or having to share the different fondues with people sitting with/by them.

Never been to Blue, so I can't comment on that.
The Melting Pot is awesome, but Shauna has a good point about everyone having to cook their own food.
I think you'd have a blast at 300 or a similar place. A few years ago, I threw FH a surprise party at Sheridan Lanes in Mineola. It was only like 10 people, but I rented out 2 lanes and paid for pizza, soda and beer and everyone's shoes and games. I also bought a cake to bring. Everyone had such a great time. It was like we were kids again!

I've never heard of Blue before, but you could possibly go there to try it out? Then you would know if you like it or not! (unless they just have parties, then sorry!)

I haven't been to 300 yet, even though I only live 10 minutes away FH has been there and he LOVES it. He keeps telling me he wants to take me, we just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Hmmm Blue or a place more similiar to that sounds better for a party type feel.
