I am going to Louis the XVI ( I love the decor and view, but the food seems too fancy for my taste) and Shoreham Country Club. I am thinking of calling Lombardi's on the Sound and trying to squeeze them in.
Ohh peter and I went to Louis the XVI! It is very beautiful and very elegant. I love the Marie Antoinette Room.
The only thing I did not like(the food was fabulous by the way, and when we go out that way to stay at the FIL's beach house, we usually visit the restaurant, yum yum!) Is for the price you pay.....they dont' give you a whole heck of a lot of food. But...that being said..it is a very elegant, very foo foo, very high class type of menu.....definitely for the discriminating taste! Great Place! Unfortunately we have a big fat italian puerto rican family that over eats and indulges...hence why we went with the old russos..so thats why we didn't go with them.
And on the other hand I don't know the first thing about the Shoreham CC. Have tons of fun and bring back reviews!!

I think I ate too much spinach today! I had a fresh spinach salad, then homemade (from a store, though - fresh, not frozen!) spinach ravioli! My tummy kinda hurts

I chose Fox Hollow for the food too. We're HUGE italian overeaters.

Thats what I'm worried about with them too. I have a Greek family (yes, my Grandma is just like they are in the movie!) and they definitely won't be eating frog legs for the cocktail hour! I want a TON of food. Wherever I book I hope I can do all the add ons available. Where is Russo's? Whats their price/minimum?
Russos is in Howard Beach Queens. They have three different rooms. The price depends on which room you get. The smaller room has its own menu. The mid and larger rooms(we are in the mid) have a different menu at a different price. How many people are you having?

hmmm...that would be the Florentine Room.
go to www.russosonthebay.com
look under facilities..you can take a tour and then there is a menu for the florentine room as well
