every year we end up sorta flipping around on TV and end up watching it.
Needless to say some of the things we say aren't nice but some of those girls really do try.
We're just awed that any kid (girl, young lady, whatever) goes through that much effort.

i like to catch parts of it... as a kid i use to write each state down, then go ranking them and guess to see who would get ahead to win...

I'll probably be watching it!! Growing up, I always watched all the pageants with my mom. We always said we were going to go to the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City!! But we haven't got the yet!!

That's so funny, I was going to write that in my original post. My mom and I used to watch all of the pageants together and I'm such a dork that I sometimes STILL sleep over her house when they, or awards shows, are on so we can watch together.

Jim & I pegged Missouri from the opening
We NEW N. Carolina would make it that far if ONLY because of that dress. Damn she was built.
We thought Ms. Oklahoma was too 'young'. She fidgeted and messed up the answer. You could tell she knew it.
Jim felt Florida was a stick.. we kept laughing at her in the bathing suit part.
Ok, Question Was it just me... or did the lighting make them all look like they had HUGE noses?!?!??!
Oh and man.. those final questions were light hearted and easy until the last one.. heavy political question. Sorta felt bad she got that question.. but she also ended up runner up.
OH and GOD were they TALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FH and I only watched the first 20 minutes before we said 'enough' Bad TV night between Miss USA and 'The Swan' (UGH)
But we kept saying the same thing -- that they ALL looked like they had HUGE noses (which I know they didn't .. it was very bad lighting!)

when I was little I wanted to be Miss America and after watching Texas win Miss America, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA etc. etc. she told me we'd have to move to Texas if I wanted to win

What was the deal with Oklahoma??!! Beautiful girl, but if she could meet ANYONE it would be Justin Timberlake? Did she REALLY think that was going to win her the crown?? Ughhh and that annoying giggle

LOL 'Justin Timberlake, of COURSE!' haha Jim and I just looked at eachother and said 'JUSTIN?' hehe then the comments about ripping off clothes would do no good for her since she had so little followed. Then we watched her walk back to her spot and you could tell.. she knew she blew it
Like the one who was asked 'If you could go back and change something what would it be?'
Nothing (ok I agree with this..) but she followed it up with 'Well maybe my shoe size.. I hate being a 9, my feet are so big' Miss Tennesee USA yeah, that's ATTRACTIVE Jim said she totally lost him when she started talking about feet.
