So, you can now marry a corpse...

So, you can now marry a corpse...

Well, than I would think allowing gay marriages should not be a problem!

Did you read about that NYU girl who jumped out the window after a fight with her fiancé? Well, he still wants to marry her, even though she is dead!

Seems a bit sick, no? Than again, so is jumping out the window because you had a fight with your fiancé!

There is no way, they both have to consent to it.

And a dead girl can't consent.

And if this is allowed, I want to marry a billionaire after he dies, so I can get all his money!

that is sick. But, I'm sure that tremendous guilt he is probably feeling is what is motivating him to suggest something so sick.

I thought this was a symbolic thing, not literally a legal marriage. I thought this had to do with his/her cultural background. I remember reading in the paper that this happens sometimes in his culture and that he asked her father or something I'm sure this is a reaction to what happened - she jumped off the roof of his apartment building after they had a fight, so I'm sure he's having feelings of depression and guilt.

Re: So, you can now marry a corpse...

apparently it is something that is/has been done in their culture and it has significant meaning in their 'after life.'
