Last night Mr Boots and I had to take our dog Sammy to the vet. On the way there, Sammy was blithely hanging his head out the window, grinning ear to ear. We were stopped at a light and two huge, tough guys were standing on the sidewalk looking very intimidating and mean. One of them caught sight of Sammy and said all sweetly and excitedly 'Hi, puppy-dog!!!'

Mr Boots and I nearly died laughing.

Even the toughest thug can be cowed by a cute dog with a wagging tail!
