how hard is it to make your own soaps? I have a lolipop mold and I want to make soaps from it. Should I cut a loli stick or something else to block off that part? Or should I allow it to fill the stick part and cut it off to remelt? The reason I have a lolipop mold and I don't just use a soap mold is that the mold I have is a unique shape. It's of Hello Kitty which is my theme and I can't get soap molds of her. I saw all these soap making kits and it seams easy enough. what do you ladies think? Thanks in advance!

Its super easy...DH and I made them for my sisters shower - yup DH was there in my moms kitchen as we were microwaving...dying...fragrancing...and pouring...
the best part was that the clean up was SO easy...its soap...so it just washes away (not like candle making)
I wasn't really satisfied with our color...but I am sure that takes playing around with

cool thanks! My mom was excited when I metioned it. Sound easy enough too. I made my own flower baskets and cake topper too, so I could do this! She wants to go to Michaels tommorow and get a small kit and try it out now! Wonder if I could get FH involved. I'll just tell him Martha Stewart would be proud. He likes her...LOL

This would be a sure fire way to get DH out of the kitchen - he can't stand Martha Stewart

He did not stick around for the soap making thing....LOL. But they came out so cute! And it was SOOOOOO easy! I can't wait till the wedding gets closer so that I can make them for real.....not just playing around.
I can so see the shape...looks like it worked out...
did you put green in it? or is it just reflecting the bacground?

Oh I used glitter, which was opalecent, so when the camera flashed it reflected that way. I have to experiment with white soap and glitter and see if that works out better. White/opalecent is the color scheme for my wedding. Oh and Hello Kitty too!
