Look into TBI. I am fairly certain they have a location in Bayside but I am unsure of LI. I have a friend who is the director I will get back to you in FM with info.

I worked for 'Options for Community Living' as one of my first jobs in the field. They have group homes all in suffolk that house adults with mental illness. There main office is in Smithtown on Main Street.

I am a Social Worker working in a public school at the 4th and 5th grade level. Unfortunately, I have only worked with children, teenagers throughout my time in the field. If your interested in working for teenagers with mental illness try MercyFirst.org. They also have other programs that I am not familiar with which may involve adults (they pay pretty well). Another agency that has many programs is SCO.org (I worked at their Madonna Heights Program RTC). Also, I would look into the hospitals (psych units) they pay very well.
