Soft diet?

Soft diet?

So because of this stupid oral surgery on Friday I'm going to be on a soft diet for a week....but knowing me if I have to spend a week eating only yogurt, apple sauce, pudding, mashed potatoes and ensure shakes I'm going to go bonkers and just starve myself instead.

Soooooo....anyone have any yummy foods that qualify for this???? I'm not sure if I'll be able to eat hot soup because they are harvesting the gum tissue from the roof of my mouth...

I really feel for you--i may have to get this done myself. Will know in Oct when i have my appointment.

You know slim fast shakes are really yummy. Also --and dont think i'm weird-- but baby food is pretty good-- the fruit ones.

Good luck!

Its basically a gum graft...like a skin graft. The gum on one of my front teeth receded way down and they need to take some from the top of my mouth and put it there so that I don't lose the tooth. I am not excited.

I lived on babyfood when I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed at the same time.

Oatmeal...so you don't have butt pee.
Mix some pumpkin butter in the oatmeal, holy heck is that amazing!

Tiramisu is soft. (Random, yeah, but TASTY!)

If you can have soup, add rice or pastina for substance.

Bananas, varities of mashed potatoes, homemade smoothies.

Re: Soft diet?

I has this surgery!! Twice!! Read horror stories about it online but really it wasn't bad AT ALL!! You'll be fine!!

I ate pudding, yogurt, applesauce, oatmeal, cooled down soups (something not chunky like chicken & stars or tomato--you can even mush crackers in it), ice cream, cottage cheese, cooled down spaghettios, mushed bananas.

Make sure you EAT. Not eating means your body doens't heal as fast.

By day 4 or so I could eat almost normally...not hard foods but a PB&J or slightly overcooked pasta.

ETA more foods...
