softball

FH & I are putting together a softball team for the fall. Is anyone interested in joining? Invitation is open to all you girls and FHs/friends/etc....we are just in short supply of girls right now, so ladies are a plus!

It's on Sundays...anytime from the morning until 2:30PM. The schedule isn't open yet, but it will be at fields in Nassau (Jones Beach, Wantagh, Mitchell Field, Eisenhower Park, etc) from September through November. It's approximately $900 per team, with a minimum of 12 on a team. We have to tip the umpire $40 each week, so that's under $4 extra per week.

Please let me know if you're interested ASAP!

FH already plays on 3 teams as it is....But Nassau is just too far for us

I saw you post this on fb and immediately I started writing ME ME ME!

And then I thought about it (typical of me).

I tend to go nuts with softball, like I slide wearing shorts (ouch), dive a bit and get hit in the face with grounders. I'd really LOVE to play (even tho it's a drive from Queens ), but I shouldn't risk the injuries right before the wedding PLUS I'll be away like half of November b/c of the HM.

I know this is long and drawn out for nothing, but I really did want to play!!! Can you keep me in mind as a sub if it's possible?

You sound just like me! I wear a sliding pad and the name on the back of my jersey is 'Pig Pen' cause I'm always covered in dirt by the end of the day - and I love it!!!!!!!

Like I said, if you get me the schedule I can let you know! I just don't want to commit and then have to miss a bunch of games
