So...I went dress shopping on Saturday...
Went to David's in The Source and Jessica McClintock in Roosevelt Field.
I thought I'd be a glutton for punishment going to David's on a Saturday afternoon, but I think due to the weather, no one felt like dress shopping, and the store was empty! There are three dresses that I keep going back to in my mind; my best friend took pics of me in them but hasn't uploaded them yet, so in the meantime while I'm awaiting those pics, here's the three dresses that I'm leaning towards:
I tried on a few vintage-y ones, but I think since I have larger hips (or as FH puts it, 'Britney Spears Hips'
) they weren't looking right on me.
I think I might call out 'sick' once this heat wave breaks and do some dress shopping on my own too, in the city.
Now, as for Jessica McClintock...I've always loved her dresses. If I didn't opt out of the prom years ago, I probably would have worn one of her dresses to it. So I was psyched when I found out that she had some funky bridal gowns. Well, my friend and I went there and no one bothered to help us at all - there was literally one other customer in the store and three girls on staff. We were pulling out dresses to try on, and the girls on staff never bothered to ask if we needed help, nothing about a dressing room...NOTHING. So I was like 'eff this' and we started to leave. Of course as we're leaving, one fo the girls asks if we needed any help and I pulled a Julia Roberts in 'Pretty Woman': 'Uh, yeah we needed help about five minutes ago! I've always been a JMC fan and never went to my prom, so I was highly considering buying one of her wedding gowns, but since you IGNORED me, I guess I'll spend my money elsewhere and you won't make any commission off of me. OH WELL!'
However, the experience at David's was a great one, so I think I'll be spending my cash there.![]()
