So....(im having a bridezilla moment)

So....(im having a bridezilla moment)

FH and I went to meet with our pastor yesterday to go over the time of the ceremony and what we wanted, what we didnt want...things like that. And he showed us our wedding vows and things like that which were beautiful. But you know the part where the priest asks you your 'I do' questions? Well, the way our church works, we have to answer 'I will' and for some reason this really bothers me. I've always imagined saying 'I do' not 'I will'. This makes me kinda sad.
Saying 'I do' just doesnt fit with what hes asking cause hes saying....'Will you take Jason to be your husband....' so answering 'I will' is the proper answer. Is it rude to ask him to change it so that I can say 'I do'? I dont want to step on my pastors toes. LOL

i would ask him if he could change it. I realy don't see it being a big problem. He just would changed the 'will you' part of the question to 'Do you'

I would ask as well. If you're met with resistance, maybe you could ask if there's a reason why they have you say 'I will' instead of 'I do'...maybe there's a special meaning behind the word choice??

I agree with the other girls - definitely ask if he can revise the vows so that you can say 'I do'

You should be able to change it. Our presit gave us a booklet with different ways he can ask. And there was i will i do and a few others. So I would ask him.

I want really traditional vows, including the whole 'i do' part.

and at the end i want him to say,

I now pronounce you husband and wife
you may kiss your bride!!!!

I am sure they will change it for you. I called up my parish the other day and had a heartattack when the lady said that she isn't sure of the Father's scheduele next year....I'm panicked!

yes!!! ask him to change it, i don't see why that would be a problem for them, but i DO see it being a problem for you if you don't say something.

i would ask him to changeit. everyone imagines themself saying I Do! its not a huge deal, its just one of those little things that make you happy.

I would ask if there's a reason it is not 'I do'. Just keep in mind that if he says he will change it to 'I Do' he may have to change the wording of the questions which may slip his mind the day of. I agree with you..something so small but means so much. 'I do' should never be changed! LOL! Good luck!
