I've been feeding Gabriel rice cereal for the past couple of weeks now but I'm beginning to get worried. He never fails to cry as if in pain while I'm feeding him the cereal. At first I thought he was just getting frustrated because his hunger wasn't being satisfied fast enough. He's always been demanding with formula. He doesn't have any rashes or diarrhea or anything associated with allergic reactions. He just seems to be in pain when he tries to swallow. He also wriggles his body as if he's very uncomfortable. When I stop the cereal he seems fine. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it something I should worry about?

Re: Solid foods
How old is he? I am not sure what the problem could be, but you should ask the dr. at the next appt. My daughter cried in between spoonfuls when she first started cereal. I figured out that she did not understand that more was coming since breastmilk and formula keeps coming until she stops sucking for it. She eventually understood and stopped crying during her feedings. I do not think Gabriel has the same problem since he seems to cry while swallowing. Sorry I could not help.

Gabriel is 4 months and 2 weeks. Unfortunately I don't think it's the same thing. You know how you can differentiate between the types of cries your baby has. Well Gabriel's cry during feedings is one of pain. I'll call my ped today and will let you know what happens.
