We took a cab home from fi's parents house tonight. When we get in front of the house, fi says to the driver to give him 12.00 back. all he had was a 20. the driver says he doesn't have change. fiance says that's not my fault. he gets on the phone with the dispatcher. they wanted him to give the driver the money then the driver we'll bring back change. he said know. they even wanted the him to go with the driver to get change. he said no. the driver went to get change and came back to our house so we could pay them. fiance told the dispatcher that we won't use them again. they hung up on him. its there responsiblity to have change.

thats happened to me a lot of times. the driver also always knows a better way to go which is so out of your way and they usually dont listen to your directions i mean its your house wouldnt you know the way to get there. the worst thing about cabs in long island is they charge per person and also per bag it is crazy. a local cab ride if you went shopping and had a few bags could be like 10 bucks ughhh

This happneed to me one morning in the city. The guy didn't have change for a $20 ($3 dollar fare and I always give $2 to make it an even $5, and I had luggage with me going out of town after work so I didn't want to haul it with me the 7 blocks). I said why do you not have change and he said he just started his shift I was his 2nd fare. Still....you'd think these guys would get change before starting their shift. Thankfully there was a fruit vendor next to us and I bought some apples and got change. I was a bit ticked off though, it was odd.

With the hassel the cab gave us, fiance didn't give the guy a tip.

Speaking of cabs...my mom was parked infront of a store....legally...and a cab hit her car and left....there is a big dent and a big yellow paint strip on her car.
a man she did not know followed the cab got the cab number and licence plate number and waited for my mom to come out of the store to give her the paper....
Why couldnt there be more nice people like this???????

I agree that the Cab companies in LI are a RIPOFF!!
My cousins and their friends went to Sag HArbor one night for partying and they got dropped there by some friend,s and planned to take a taxi home..whennthey called at 1AM, the person said it would cost 36.00....it was less than a mile drive, but they had all had too much t drink and were doing the RESPONSIBLE Thing....they ended up WALKING (STUMBLING) home
thats a Ripoff!!!!!!!!!!
What if they got into the car and drove it because of that> they would get a ticket for dwi or worse, hurt themselves or another person...Taxi companies SUCK!

My aunt and I went to the city last year around Christmas time (we go every year for my birthday which is Dec. 22) We got three different cabs and they rolled down the window and said where are you going and when we said uptown they all drove away. One almost took my aunts toes with them. We where so pissed we called the T & L C with their # but I don't know if they everydid anything.
