Some checks this weekend! LOTS OF PICS!
While FH was off on at his b-party in AC, I managed to get some things checked off the list!
1) Cake is done! Since FH couldn't make it, my MOH came with me. Black Forest was amazing! Christine the decorator (or Christina - sorry can't remember) was such a sweetheart. We had so much fun during the apppointment just talking about random stuff (and of course cake). She went in the back and made the Cookies & Cream Mousse filling from scratch for us to try with two pieces of chocolate cake. HEAVENLY! My MOH and I were literally eating the filling with spoons after the cake was gone LOL. Then, I ordered FH's groom's cake (taking advantage of the fact that he was not at the appt.). I couldn't believe the quote she gave me!! It was well under what I thought it was going to be after the prices I was getting from other vendors! I so happy!
So the wedding cake will be chocolate cake with cookies & cream mousse filling and buttercream icing. The only extra charge was $35 to add the fresh sunflowers which was no big deal:
And FH's Groom's cake with be Red Velvet with Cream cheese filling (she even gave my MOH and I 2 free squares of red velvet cake to take home and it was delish!):
2) After the cake appt, we took a ride over to Pearsall Park to scout it out for pics and I think we found a winner. It's not a very big park but has lots of potential spots for pictures. It's also not a very 'in the open' park so not a lot of people go there, which is great for the day of. Here are some pics:
3) We also stopped by the Riviera since my MOH hadn't seen it yet and she loved it! And I'm so happy I got to run into Eloise (Weezy) who was at her final meeting appt! I also was able to start really envisioning the day of. Also, Riviera girls, if you are planning on putting your head table in the corner by the dancefloor, than that back corner really isn't all that bad for the guests because they can still see. Just something to keep in mind when doing seating arrangements or if you fear (like us) that you are going to have more guests than expected and have to use that back corner.
4) Finally, some little random stuff....
-Got the centerpiece for the head table (stand is from BB&B and I purchased the candles and lemons/limes from Crate & Barrel):
-Picked up the water bottles for the hotel rooms, party bus, and coach bus. Just personalized the one for now and will most likely get all of the done sometime next weekend:
-Received my personalized hanger from Suzie - I love it!!!!
