OMG! People just don't understand!
I would call that person back after you've calmed down and explain to him again that he can't bring his best friend and the person he thought wasn't coming, now is. AND, if he insists on bringing his best friend, let him know that person will be asked to leave during the wedding. Maybe he mailed out the RSVP card before talking to you so it's just a mistake.
