Some great news! Now what?

Some great news! Now what?

Someone is giving us a queen sized bed. GREAT. I'm so psyched.

Now. I need to get it from Suffolk into FH's house in Levittown.

What is the cheapest way to do this?

I called a guy on craigslist who says he moves stuff... he quoted me $65.

Any idea on the best way to go about this w/ spending the least money?

mattress or the actual bed? maybe ask a friend who has a truck to help move it. or if it's the bed, take it apart and then just put it back together at your FH's house.

i think you should just rent a small truck from home depot ... i thought it's like $20 .... you just need to recruit some friends to help move everything

Home Depot or UHaul are your best bets...for a day rental both are seriously cheap...$65 is overpriced.

CONGRATS ON NOT HAVING TO SLEEP IN A TWIN BED ANYMOOOOORE!!!!!!

i'm looking at UHaul. its $20 plus $1 per mile. Hmm... that would put us at like $80.

Re: Some great news! Now what?

Just wanted to say in response to the Home Depot suggestions -

FH and I recently called Home Depot because we needed to pick up a dining table from a store. The lady said it's for their store items only, meaning you have to buy something from there that you are transporting. It is 20 bucks for 75 mins and you have to fill up the tank.

FH and I needed new doors anyway so we bought doors from there, used the van to pick up our dining table, and they didn't know any better.

Renting U haul is more expensive because they charge you a flat fee of 20 and above depending on size AND for every mile you use it for!

Trust me, FH and I have been utilizing all of these for the past 2 months moving and buying furniture!

eta: I believe our total for home depot came up to like $36 with the cost of the gas. U haul was close to $80 for the same size van! The mileage really got us.
