So a coworker of mine from a previous job is getting married next week. I couldn't come to the wedding, since it's in Ohio and I just couldn't eat the expense, but I sent her a gift of her registry anyways.
I found out from another old coworker that she was complaining all day at work about how it was a gift and not money!!!!
Are you kidding me???? Mind you, since I have stopped working at that job I have only exchanged a few e-mails with her.
I wish I could take my gift back.

tell her that you heard through the grapevine that she's not happy - ask her to send it back so you could send cash instead ... then conveniently forget to send the cash.
