Some trivia that I want to share with the Hows

I went to school in Pittsburgh, Pa. and I picked up a little bit of the local slang, known as Pittsburghese.

'How' has an interesting meaning in Pittsburghese. If something was funny, my Pittsburgh friends would declare, 'What a How.' I likened that to someone saying 'What a Pisser.'

I refer you to a Pittsburghese glossary of terms

The word 'Howin'' is in there:
Howin Howling; laughing. I was howin at that Pittsburghese web page. In its simplest form: 'What a how.'

I know this is not earth shattering but I just wanted you all to know that you brought back a memory of my days and nights in the Steel City.

I'm a fan of howin.

I kind of like adding 'ing' even if it's really wrong to do that.

Clearly, you don't watch I Love New York. It's a blunt.

Moses likes the tap dancing one too. He gave me permission on that.

And in Pittsburgh they say 'Yunz' instead of 'Y'all.'

I want to you yunz now. I don't have enough Y words in my life.

'Yunz ' wis a good one b/c it was always used in connection w/ drinking, as in 'Yunz are all coming DahnTahn fer some Iron City brewskies. So and so is gonna be there and she's such a How.'

DahnTahn = their pronunciation of Downtown.
