Somebody stop me...

If you read the post I wrote saturaday about the guitar I bought maybe you can help me out. My FH was dying for this limited guitar, and I got it for him behind his back. He is so disappointed that he couldnt buy it, (because I bought the last one behind his back), and now he is so depressed about it. I really want to give it to him now. But it is supposed to be a wedding gift. So somebody talk me out of giving it to him now. Thanks

Your wedding isn't until April, are you sure he won't find it somewhere else and buy it?

I agree....Don't do it! If he is anything like my FH, he'll still want the guitar but will get preoccupied by something else. This makes the wait easier because he isn't thinking about it as much. Your FH will LOVE the guitar when he gets it!

I agree with sasha...try to get him preoccupied with something else. Many times I have gotten things for my FI and couldn't wait to give them to him - and I didnt!! After I gave it to him, I always wished I had waited. Maybe if you can't wait, you could give it to him for christmas? Good Luck! I know just how hard it is!!!

CHRISTY I ENJOYED YOUR POSTS ON SATURDAY.. MAKE HIM SWEAT IT OUT ACTUALLY I THINK YOU ARE THE ONE SWEATING IT OUT... YOU HAVE TO WAIT JUST THINK OF THE EXPRESSION ON HIS FACE WHEN YOU GIVE IT TO HIM.. BUT ALSO KEEP ON TOP OF HIM TO MAKE SURE HE DOESN'T FIND ANOTHER ONE.. :) GOOD LUCK

So far he has been looking, but cant find this guitar ANYWHERE! You guys are right, I am the one sweating it out. I hate the fact that he is bummed. He is on a mission to find one though. So I have to make sure I know if he finds one (which I dont think he will because we have looked everywhere). But I am so excited that I have it, and I am DYING to give it to him. The more he talks about not having it the more it kills me. But here's my ultimate plan (if all goes well)...since we are seeing each other for pics at flowerfield I want to wait until right after we see each other for the first time and then take him to the bridal suite where the guitar will be waiting for him. HE WILL FLIP OUT! I wish the wedding wasnt so far away. Now it seems even futher...ahhh I dont know if I can take it. I have to preoccupy myself. If only he would stop talking about the guitar!

You could always wrap yourself up in a big bow and tell him to play you instead of that guitar... LOL!!! That would be a good distraction I would imagine!!

Oh wow, I'm the only one who disagrees! *giggles* I would totally give it to him - especially with that many months that he could enjoy it. I guess I'm just over indulgent, but I would feel so guilty!

I do feel guilty. I guess I have to play it by ear. We'll see, maybe he'll stop talking about it. Then I will try my best to wait. I just want him to be so surprised.

Ladies...sorry to be a pain, but I have to say my FH is getting worse. We had dinner tonight and he is still so upset and angry about the guitar thing. He is going to call the guitar salesman to bug him some more tomorrow about tracking down this guitar. Ahhh I cant get his mind off it. The man is on a mission. I really dont want to blow the surprise, but I dont know how long to let him go on like this...he is stressing me out. LOL!

KEEP FIGHTING CHRISTY.. YOU CAN DO IT.. HEY I HAVE AN IDEA GO PUT SOME SEXY OUTFIT ON AND TAKE HIS MIND OFF THE GUITAR, OKAY YOU MAY HAVE TO DO IT EVERY NIGHT TILL THE WEDDING DAY BUT ITS WORTH IT..

The mean and rotten Valenia has returned to cast doubt! (SORRY) I know you have the BEST of intentions, so please don't take this any other way. I just think you may be more focused on your desire for a surprise than his happiness.

OMG, give it to the poor man! You'll be his hero! I couldn't lie to him all this time and watch him be sad when I could help. If it was a week, I would feel different, but months and months? How can you resist the look of joy he'll give you? And how can you tolerate knowing you are extending his misery!
