and let me ask you a question: What number of guests would you invite (and not go over that number) to try and ensure that you get all 125 people you've guaranteed for?

Ok- I read everywhere it was 20 to 25%... but I have been asking coorindators, etc., people I have met with that really know- and they all say 15% do not come.
I am totally screwed-- but there is still time to help you!

Aw, just jump, it's a heck of a lot easier!
We invited over 200 and ended up with 140. I think that's pretty normal (although we did invite a lot of people who would've had to travel from the UK)
It all works out, you'll see!

In the end, we invite 260 people A lot were just out of courtesy since we knew so many would not make it from out of town. We ended up with 180 and 4 cancels the week of.
Many we thought would definitely not come did and those we thought were a positive, did not.

Thanks girls! I'm sooo nervous. We've guaranteed 125 people (and are prepared to pay for that many). But if all 186 show up....well, if you see me on a corner somewhere selling pencils, you'll know why!

What I was thinking about doing with the invites was staggering them. I am planning to mail the 'A' list a little earlier than the rest. This way we could still invite the 'B' list as people cancel. We guaranteed 150 and right now our list is about 180. Just an idea!

The amount of no's depends largely on how many OOT guests you have — the more you have, the more no's you will get. We had about 10 adults and 4 kids invited from OOT and none of them came. We invited about 235 and had 185 or so.

We have to guarantee 200 and are inviting 240...but we don't really don't have any OOT.
