I go to Maximus Spa in Merrick. I highly recommend Maria. She'll talk you through it and you are in and out in 10 minutes. It gets less painful the more times you go and unlike shaving it tends not to leave ingrown hairs .

Does it grow in all prickly/itchy/stubbly like when you shave 'down there'? Red bumps and stuff?

no it doesnt--for me at least. and it doesnt itch when it's growing back, like shaving does.

Interesting!! Anyone else?

Nope - no red bumps or itching when it grew back for me. The process was extremely painful though IMO (and I had gotten just my bikini done for many years.) I'm not sure if I'll do it again,

I got it, it hurt like hell and honestly, I do not see much difference between that and shaving....I do NOT think it was worth the pain and money...JMHO

and i guess i just can't get over the fact that someone i have never met will be all up in my cooch...I know its their job and they are professional, but I can't help but think what are they thinking when they are down there

Well, think of it this way.... your gyno is down there and there was a time when you were just meeting him or her for the first time

This is to funny! Just go for it!! Take two Advil 30 minutes before you go, or take a Vicodin

It also helps if you go to someone who speaks English, that way they can talk to you throughout the ordeal to help take your focus off of it. They also need to do it really quick. I've never had to get on all fours! That's crazy!
ps.. they also wax in your butt crack... But don't worry, that doesn't really hurt, at least compared to the other more sensitive areas. Anyone agree?

Nope, it grows back finer actually and I don't remember it itching when it grows back. I recently moved too far away from my coochie waxer lady so I've been shaving and let me tell you I hate shaving! It grows back overnight and it's bumpy and itchy and prickly! Waxing is so much better!
There is a product out there call Tendskin that helps with any kind of redness or bumps after your initial wax. The first time it will likely be a little red and bumpy depending on how sensitive your skin is. I also second the women who advise not to go before your period, think of how sore and sensitive your breasts are.... you get the idea.

DH once told me his ex-girlfriend was studying to be an aesthetician, and she had to watch a video on giving brazilian waxes, and she told him it was so graphic it was like watching a porn movie!!!

My FH has been begging me to go back for another brazillian...I'm trying to hold off as close as possible to the wedding! It hurt pretty bad, but it was my first time getting one about two months ago...hopefully this time will be less painful.

I just got my 3rd Brazilian yesterday, and let me tell you...it still hurts A LOT, but not as much as the first time. It's worth it to me - I get horrible red bumps when I shave down there.
When I got home last night, FH was mowing the lawn. He came up to me and was like, 'so let me see' right there in the driveway! I had to bring him inside and give him a quick peek! The things that give him a thrill...
