Okay here's the deal.. I have and 8 year old son... my mother thinks i need to put him on the wedding invitation.. She keeps saying... and I quote 'THis is his marriage too you know!!' Okay I understand the he's MY SON... and i understand that this is a big day for him but is it realy necessary to put him on the actual invitation... for example she wants something along these lines...

Re: Someone please help with invite wording!!!!!!
That wording seems odd. How about referencing your son as Master?

Re: Someone please help with invite wording!!!!!!
hmmmm, i can't say that i've ever seen that before. i think it would be a much nicer gesture to include your son in the ceremony to symbolize starting a new life and new family. but i don't think he needs to be on the invite. people who really know you know you have a son and that he'll be part of the new family. i dont think they need it in writing.

THANK YOU!!! I felt like i was being a selfish B***C... Don't get me wrong please.. I love my son to death and trust me he is and always be my first priority in life but I think this is just nuts!! He is being included in the ceremony.. We wrote seperate vows to do with him aside from ours. And he will be standing up at the alter with FH the whole time. I just didnt see the need to put him on the actual invitation!
THank you... i actualy feel a little better now!

I disagree with putting his name on the invite. maybe you can put him in the program, but not the invitation. JMO

Okay i found this tell me what you think..
Through marriage we are given the gift of a new beginning, a new family and a new life.
What if I put this at the beginning of the invite... then it kind of incorporates the 'FAMILY' thing into it.
Yes? NO?

Re: Someone please help with invite wording!!!!!!
My fiance has been married before and has a son who will be 7 when we get married. He will be the honorary best man and we are going to ask the priest to do a special blessing for all three of us at the end of the wedding but he will not be on the invitation.

So us doing our separate little vows with him is fine right?? THanks!

yeah I don't think it's nesassary to put him on the invite. it sounds like you've done a lot to include him. i'm sure that's enough.

Re: Someone please help with invite wording!!!!!!
I think it sound like it is his marriage, and where he is getting a new family, it isn't necessarily his marriage. What if you added him where you are adding your mother?
Mrs. so and so and (your sons name) request your presence at the marriage of ( your name) and (your FH name). This way it shows that he is a big part of it, but not the one getting married.

I think he should be on the invite...... but not as your mom says..... He should definately be on as if he is the one giving you to your husband.
