Someone was watching over me yesterday. . .LONG
So FH and I went out with my parents on their boat yesterday. We were hanging out in Zack's Bay with some friends of my parents, when I decided to jump in the water.
I asked my father how deep the water was and he said about 30'. Before I dive in, I notice that I never took off my jewelry ( I don't like to wear it in the salt water). So I say to FH- here take this (he ignores me cause he is deep in conversation with my father). So I am standing there on the swim platform on the back of the boat repeatedly calling to FH to take my E-ring and bracelet.
Somehow, I manage to DROP MY ERING!!!!! I literally saw it happening in slow motion and started SCREAMING the second it left my hand. It bounced twice on the platform and slid into the water....I dropped to my knees ready to go in after it, when I see it! My first thought was that it was sinking slowly- but I didn't want to jump in and move it around, so I just yelled to my mom who was already in the water, 'I see it- get it!' (At this point I am HYSTERICAL)
Then I realize that the ring is not moving- and I thought I was seeing the bottom of the bay...which is 30' deep...impossible.
Finally I realize that my ring has landed on the propeller of the boat and is balanced there about a foot below the surface. I was so afraid that any movement on the boat would cause it to slide right off the propeller.
FH ignored my hysterical screams to not move a muscle...he crawled next to me...reached down and grabbed it.
The chances of that ring landing on the propeller and not falling 30' to the bottom are SO SLIM!
I was so FREAKIN LUCKY!!
Word to the wise girls (although I think I'm the only MORON that would EVER do it-) Don't remove your jewelry on the swim platform of a boat sitting in 30' deep water.![]()
