the only thing i don't have yet is something old... but i am planning on wearing a necklace that FH gave me our first christmas/chanukah together 4 years ago, it goes perfectly with the dress. do you think 4 years is 'old' enough?

Re: Something Old
I say it's 'old' if you already owned it and used it at least once!
My something old is my entire day of jewelry, and two of the three items I've only worn once!

Re: Something Old
ok, so I posted a couple days ago a similar topic...
something old - symbolizes continuity with the past something new - symbolizes hope for the future something borrowed - shows the support of friends and family something blue - symbolizes purity (like the Virgin Mary) and a sixpence in her shoe - luck for future prosperity of the couple
To me, old = older than the bride It is traditionally supposed to come from a parent, aunt/uncle, or grandparent... a family heirloom. your family MUST have something.... an old pin, hankerchief (to wrap the bo-k), purse
however, you can go on ebay, and very inexpensively (under $10 after shipping) bid on a sixpence. They were made until the late 60's... it could definitely double with your 'old'
