Re: something old
depends who you are asking I think - if its your Mom or grandma or something I would ask. . . they'd probably be flattered if its something that means a lot to them!!

Re: something old
we found FH's parents wedding album in with a bunch of stuff that his father left here after he remarried. Fh's mom passed away. we gave the album to FFIL and his wife who was coincidently very good friends with FH's mom in the album was her handkerchief (sp?) from their wedding. i think it would be really awesome to have that with me on the day.
i guess it could be the something borrowed or something old

this sounds wonderful!
i'm sure FH's dad wouldnt mind if you used it during the wedding and even kept it for your children to use.
go ahead and ask...he may not know you are interested.
it would be so nice to have it with you that day
good luck!

sure- i think that is something you could ask to borrow. It can be your borrowed and old (multitasking ) Paul would probably think it was nice that you want to borrow it.

Re: something old
i would definitely ask. FH would probably be happy you wanted to use it, as well as his mom

i think so too! and his dad will be touched i'm sure. and his stepmom will be thrilled. they worked together for years as nurses. so it's not like she was a stranger to her.

I think that would make everyone happy. Its touching to want to include something from your FH mother.
GO for it

For my something old do you think I can use my FH? I'm kidding he's not old but I'd love to see his reaction if I asked him that

Re: something old
i think you can ask no matter who/what it is. The worst they can do is say no.
In your situation, FFIL prob wouldn't think to offer it, b/c he's a man and they don't know anything.
