Something Special For the Parents During Reception

My DJ gave me a really nice idea of playing my parents wedding song during the reception (Love Story), which I am totally going to do! Anyone else doing something during the reception for their parents?

This is a nice idea - my bro did this for our parents when he got married, and I may do the same.

We did that for both of our parents..a friend of mine did that six years ago and I tucked it away in my head to use since I thought it was so nice....the video of pictures of them dancing to their song are so precious!!!!

That is a nice idea - if I can find out FIL's wedding song, maybe I would do that for both

We are also getting a cake for FMIL (her bday) and one for my parents (their anniversary) - (crazy I know - what were we thinking?!)

I wanted to, but both our parents stated they didn't want to be in the limelight.

However, we're getting married on my IL anniversary, so we're going to do something special for them - although they don't know it!!!

This is a great idea. unfortunately my dad passed away and I won't be able to do this for my mom and him..but I plan to dance with my brother or godfather to a song I've dedicated in memory of my dad..

Yes but I am not going to play their wedding song. My brother did that last year at his wedding so I wanted to do something different. I am going to play THrough the years...they played that at my dad's 40 birthday party and it was so sweet. I was only 7 and I remember it. Also for FH's parents we are going to play the first song they ever danced to.

I planned on playing their wedding song...Billy Joel 'Just The Way You Are' especially because they just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last month. I thought it would be a nice surprise.
