Something to Think about re Calories

Something to Think about re Calories

For those of you who are bummed about what they lost....think of it this way:
3000 calories= 1 pound. That means if you gain 10 lbs. you consumed 30,000 calories more than your body needed (to maintain life and metabolic function etc).
By the same token, and I think I'm explaining this correctly, feel free to chime in - if you lose let's use Lauren's 2.8 lbs as an example, 2.8 lbs, then you've just eaten/burned 8400 cals! You've either eaten 8400 fewer calories than usual or you've eaten less and burned some of them.

Just 'food' for thought. I hope it makes sense.

Thanks Rachel!!! I will keep that in mind!

It made me sick to think about the 30,000 calories per 10lbs. Because I've actually gained 10lbs and that means that's a lot of calories I shoved in my face!

Ha. I've gained 60 lbs since high school, 13 yrs ago. That would be 180,000 extra cals that have been lost and then gained back a few times! That's a lot of beer and more than a few steaks and cheese fries!!!!!!

LOL! You know, speaking of beer, I called my grandmother to tell her I lost 2.8lbs, right? She said that's good, but will it stay down? Because when you go on vacation, you drink all that beer! I was like, listen I gotta go!
