Something very thoughtful yet easy your might like to do...

We just had my son's wedding on Sunday at the Westmount Country club in NJ. It was wonderful.
I did want to share one thing that I've never seen before but was such a great idea! They had the two best seats at the two parents' table ribboned off. This way when the parents went to their tables the best seats facing the dance floor were reserved for them. At my daughter's wedding, as well as at my first son's, we were the last to sit and the two remaining chairs were the ones with the backs to the dance floor. Such a simple thing to do and we never even thought of it. It does make a big difference all night.

That is a terrific idea and I will do that for sure!!!! How nice. Maybe have a cute surprise for them at their plates as well LOVE IT!!!!

I would hope that the other people at the table would be kind enough to let the parents have the better seat. At least that's what they did at my wedding. I like the idea though

Maybe a pic of me and my mom at her seat and a pic of me and my dad at his....future hubby can do the same, cute way to let them know you are thinking about them. It is their special day too ! Thanks LIMom you got my wheels turning LOL

It is always so wonderful to see you around here. You are always as thoughtful and as helpful as usual. I bet everything was wonderful. Planning is coming along until LIW put this new earring contest sponsored by Ecolin.....

In a perfect world, that would definitely be the case - and it's a family, too. I know it's just that people sit without thinking. They start talking and find an empty chair. Maybe someone who's been through it already may be thoughtful enough to say something to the others. After we sat and my cousin saw me turning all the time, she commented at my daughter's wedding that I should have sat where she was. It was really too late to start moving dishes, etc, so I just said it was okay.

Anyway, the ribbons looked great and truly made the parents feel a little extra special. A photo at their plate would add a very nice touch. I'm really glad I got you girls thinking. You can never do enough to repay your parents for all they have done, but mostly for the love and concern they have given you over the years. Little things mean so much.

Great idea! I'm getting chair covers for my reception, and I was thinking for all the chairs to put a off-white slip and off-white bow on all the chairs. But now I'm thinking to put fall color bows on my bridal party's chairs, and my parents, as well as his parents. Love it
