Sometimes you meet someone so randomly but they can truly make your day!

I had a customer call me today and we got to chitchatting and he was absolutely, hands down, the sweetest person to ever walk the Earth.

He went on an on about his late wife Gertrude. He said he visits her every week for the last 11 years at the cemetary and plays her Perry Como CDs. He doesn't call her his wife, she's his 'doll.' He said he met her the day he came home from WWII and he saw her walking down the street so he followed her; he finally asked her out but she was seeing someone, so she finally relented and went one 1 date with him. Then another the next night. On the third day, he called her home and when her mother picked up, he said 'Hi Mom,' and she said, 'Why are you calling me Mom?' and he said, 'Because you're gonna be my mother in law!'

55 years they were married. He said his wife gave him a list of women when she was dying that could take care of him; his daughter wants him to have a companion. He said he'll never be with anyone else because he's still in love with his doll.

Awww I had to read it twice...that is sooo sweet. They sound like a very lucky, loving couple...she was even unselfish enough to think about who may be good for him after she was gone.

Ahhh heartbreaking

SOO sweet. It's amazing how people met one another back in the day.

My Great Uncle (95) and my Great Aunt (who passed away about 5 years ago) were married for 60 or so years. He never met his FW but found out about her through a friend while he was at war. So they wrote letters to one another back and forth throughout his deployment and fell in love. When he came back they were married in a small church downtown. It's amazing how in love they were and it's so sad to see how much he misses her. He says, 'I'm a happy man and want to die a happy man. There's nothing else I can see in this world. I was a poor spaniard growing up with nothing and ended up being rich in love. I'm happy but am ready to see my evey (Evelyn) again.'
