I am a terrible traveller (any kind: flying, cars, boats, etc.) so I definitely want to go to some sort of tropical island that we can get to without connecting flights. We don't want to do Aruba b/c we've been there several times already. However, it'll also be hurricane season, so that worries me a bit, too. I went on Jet Blue's site to see where they fly direct to, and they go to The Bahamas, Bermuda and St. Maarten (although FH has been to St. Maarten already). FH actually wanted to go to Italy, but I don't want the stress of a tour and waking early and rushing all over everyday. After the stress of planning this wedding, I know I will just wanna lie on a beach somewhere LOL! Bermuda looks GORGEOUS so I am sort of leaning towards that. Anyone have any other suggestions??

Re: Somewhere tropical w/ a direct flight!
There's always Florida... maybe the Keys or something on the water. St Thomas, Puerto Rico or Mexico.

Bermuda was a lot of fun and a very short flight! The only thing is, its sort of expensive there. What about Turks and Caicos? or a cruise? you can go to the caribbean or europe and since everything is taken care of (food, lodging etc) you dont have the hassle of too much stress and running around.

FH and I went to Puerto Rico in February and we stay at an AMAZING place. It is called El Conqistador. It is a beautiful hotel on a cliff. They have a great poll area and they own an island with a private beach. They have a boat that takes you over to the island. PR is a short direct flight (maybe 3 hours). They only thing is the hotel is on the other side of the island so it is about a 45 minute car ride, but it is truly worth it. If nothing else, check them out online.

I just got back from the Riveria Maya in Mexico. We stayed at the Excellence Riveria and it was beautiful!! I'm not a flyer either, and the trip was about 3 hours direct from JFK to Mexico. Def. worth looking into!!
