Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My son (4 months 1 week) had been getting better at sleeping, but we moved, put up his new crib, etc, and everything is off again. He HATES napping. Put him in his crib, pack and play, etc, and he screams. It takes rocking, etc, to get him to fall asleep, and as soon as you put him back down, he is up and screaming. Only at night is it a bit easier, because he is SO tired and I guess used to night-time sleep that it's a bit easier. How can we encourage naps? Do we try the Ferber method yet, which will kill me. Any ideas? THANKS!

What if you take him for a walk in the stroller, even if its in the house because its cold out? Then maybe once he starts napping, he'll get used to it.

Emma went through the same phase. Thats all it was for us was a 3 week phase. Maybe he is more curious about his surroundings and too interested in the world to sleep.

I put my little one on his Einstein Mat and let him play for a while and it will usually tucker him out and put him to sleep on his own. If that doesn't work, I willput him in his bouncy seat and rock him for a little bit.
Hopefully he is just going through a phase.

I agree with taking him out in the stroller. That way he will most likely fall asleep while you are walking and the cold air should help too.

It could be he is starting to teethe. Emily does this when she is teething badly. Try some teething tablets or some orajel. It might do the trick.

Do you have a swing? My BF uses this and her baby calms right down and eventually nods off.

Anthony does the same thing. he naps during the day for about 15-20 minutes at a time maybe 2 times a day but at night he sleeps from 8-1am nurses then sleeps from 1:30-6 then again from 6:30-8. i guess he is just so tired from being up all day. does your son sleep is you put him in the car for a ride?

I actually feel as though Matthew is so tired (he cries) but doesn't want to miss anything, so he doesn't want to go in his crib. If we don't put him in though, he will still cry out of it. He falls asleep easily in the stroller, the car, even his playmat at times, so why not the crib? I don't really want to get in the habit of having to take a walk, etc, to get him to sleep, but I guess it's better he sleeps than not. Thanks ladies
