You know, I have been looking for reccomended songs for groom & mom and they are all love songs, which is inappropriate. I have to pick it out or FH is going to pick out something they can't even slow dance to.

I like 'Because You Loved Me' by Celine Dion (can also be a love/couple song?), 'You'll be in My Heart' by Phil Collins, 'Have I Told You Lately' by Rod Stewart, and 'Wind Beneath My Wings' by Bette Midler.
FI informed me that he wants to dance with his mom to Prodigy's 'Smack My B***h Up' - he envisions an emotional slam dance...

Umm for my daddy since me & him r real big van morrison fans i am using 'tupelo honey'.....& i am using van morrison's 'someone like you' for our wedding song.....the whole groom & mother song things is driving me nutty...... haha

My boy sounds like a great song. I think that maybe the best suggestion I have heard yet. All of my sister's husbands did the Better Midler song Wind Beneath My Wing.

IMO, I feel it should be up to FH & his mom to choose the song...FH is not helping me to pick my song for my dad...I always felt it should be a song that symbolizing their relationship or feelings...It is great though that you are helping out!
I already told my FMIL no 'Wind beneath my wings' for personal reasons!

That is great!!! Normally I would tell FH to give him a good laugh too but I am afriad he would love the idea too...he has that twisted sense of humor as well!!!

some of the songs that my fh wanted were crazy i said to him it is supposed to be something meaningful not something stupid....he has finally made a few good choices.
