Song ideas?

Song ideas?

My FH is stuck on song ideas for his dance with his mother. Does anyone have any suggestions?

And for that matter, I need a song to dance with my Dad. We're not that close and I do NOT want something like Daddy's Little Girl, because that's not how I feel. I was thinking maybe The Way You Look Tonight because we're both Sinatra fans. Anyone have others that would be appropriate?

Thanks!!

The Way you Look tonight sounds perfect! I really like that song!

As far as son/mother song??? I'm sorry I'm stumped on that myself. I know someone used Garth Brook's To Make you Feel My Love, but to me, that is a couple song. It was really cute though!!!

(I'm not much help)

Re: Song ideas?

Are there any singers or groups he used to listen to with his mother when he was younger? FH picked 'Through the Years' by Kenny Rogers b/c he and his mother used to listen to Kenny when he was younger.

If I could by Regina Bell (Barbara Streisand sang it too), its so sweet, my mom dance with my brother to that song, here are the lyrics:

If I Could
I'd protect you from the sadness in your eyes
give you courage in a world of compromise
yes I would
If I could
I would teach you all the things I've never learned
and I'd help you cross the bridges that I've burned
yes I would
if I could
I would try to shield your innocence from time
but the part of life I gave you isn't mine
I've watched you grow
so I could let you go
if I could
I would help you make it through the hungry years
but I know that I can never cry your tears
but I would
if I could
if I live in a time and place where you don't want to be
you don't have to walk along this road with me
my yesterday won't have to be your way
if I knew
how I'd try to change the world I brought you to
and there isn't very much that I can do
but I would
if I could
if I could
I would try to shield your innocence from time
but that part of life I gave you isn't mine
I watched you grow so I could let you go
if, if I could
I would help you make it through those hungry years
but I know that I can never cry your tears
but I would
if I could
yes I would
yes I would
if I could

Re: Song ideas?

The Way You Look Tonight is a great song to use.

My FI and his mom are dancing to Phil Collin's You'll Be In My Heart.

It's Your Song' – Garth Brooks

Standing in the spotlight
On such a perfect night
Knowing that your out there listening
I remember one time
When I was so afraid
Didn't think I had the courage
To stand up on this stage
Then you reached into my heart
And you found the melody
And if there ever was somebody
Who made me believe in me
It was you , It was you
It was your song that made me sing
It was your voice that gave me wings
And it was your light that shined
Guiding my heart to find
This place where I belong
It was your song
Every night I pray
Before the music starts to play
That I'll do my best and I won't let you down
And for all the times I've stood here
This feeling feels brand new
And any time I doubt myself I think of you
Dreams can come true
With God's great angels like you
It was your song that made me sing
It was your voice that gave me wings
And it was your light that shined
Guiding my heart to find
This place where I belong
It was your song, It was your song
It's always been your song

I picked, I hope you Dance, by Leeann Warmack for my FH and his mom. I'm dancing with my dad to The way u look tonight, by Frank Sinatra! I love that song and my dad also is a big Sinatra fan!

Alison - I have a similar relationship with my dad (not mushy) and we are using The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. It's not too sappy and me and my dad are huge Sinatra fans!
