How many songs approximatly did/are you going to request ? I am pretty picky and I am curious how many songs are played in a night . Are you going to give them your entire play list ?

We didnt really give the band a list of songs to play, except for the entrance, first dance, parent dance, etc. They sent us a list of songs that they knew- we checked off songs that we defintely wanted and definitely didnt want played at the wedding. They also learned a few songs for us.

We are doing this now......we just wrote the major dances and songs we want like first dance, parent dances, cake cutting....blablabla.....and then we wrote up a list of songs we reallly want to hear...we didn't go crazy but enough for them to see what music we are into and to make sure certain songs we really like are played. WE also made a DO NOT PLAY list of any songs we really dont want at the wedding!!

Crystan08, just out of curiousity , how many songs did you suggest that you wanted to hear? right now I have about 40 and I don't know if that is too much , or not enough. my band ( even though i love them ) is pretty vague on how many songs get played in a night

Crystan08, just out of curiousity , how many songs did you suggest that you wanted to hear? right now I have about 40 and I don't know if that is too much , or not enough. my band ( even though i love them ) is pretty vague on how many songs get played in a night
i would say 40 is about right. We have ours grouped....like rock.....hiphop.....70's.....dance...and then about 7 songs in each group but enough so they know what artists you are into. My sister had a band, we are having a DJ, and she got VERY specific with them bc sometimes they can't play some of the songs you might want. So just be sure they have the music and are comfortable with your song choices!!! I don't think you can ever have too much information down on paper...this way they know. I would say to keep your favorite selections at the top of your lists.....we put little asterisks next to the MUST PLAY SONGs...LoL

Us too , with the astericks . That is the downfall of a band , they can't play everything you may want , but i did review their song list and there is alot of stuff there to choose from .
