Song selections for DJ

I have started to make up the song list with my FH and man this is hard!!! I want to make sure the ones we love get played and the ones we hate don't.
Typically how many songs can a DJ play in a 3-4 hour span? We are having a pianist for cocktail hour and half of dinner.
I just want to know how many song choices to give him. Thanks!
