Hey everyone... What song are you using to dance with your dad? My dads a Country Music fan so I was trying to find a nice country song. I was thinking of the Faith Hill song 'There You'll Be' I don't know if its appropriate though, because its from Pearl Harbor and the guy died (I hope I didn't just ruin the movie for anyone who didn't see it ) What's everyone else using?

I'm actually using There You'll Be. Until you said that it was from Pearl Harbor, I had no idea. I definitely think it is an appropriate song, I never even thought that it related to death.

If your Dad likes Country (Like I do) try Tim McGraw Grown Men Don't Cry. It is on his newest album. This is the song I am going to dance with my Dad to. The last line is beautiful and since my Dad will cry the whole time it is perfect. The theme to Pearl Harbor is about someone who is dead- which I find very sad. JMO.

I am trying to convince my FI to dance with his mother to There You'll Be. I think it is an absolutely beautiful song. I never related it to death until the thread about this song a few weeks ago.

I'm using 'There You'll Be' too, I don't relate the song to the movie at all (didn't see it anyway)...but the first time I heard it I cried thinking of my Dad and I dancing. I just knew it was the song we should dance to.

Thanks for all your help. I am going to stick with 'There You'll Be' It is such a great song and I can totally see me & my dad dancing to it (while I cry)

That is all that matters. For my wedding 3 weeks ago, I wanted to do Through The Years by Kenny Rogers becuase my Dad and I were (well he still is) big kenny Rogers fans. But everyone told me, no that is for a man and a woman, etc. I didnt end up using it and now i am kind of sorry I didn't. So dont listen to anyone go with your heart! It is such a beautiful song!@
By the way, I am sorry to admit to this, but I think I am one of the ones that started this whole 'related to death' thing. I am sorry.
