When I was the MOH at my sisters wedding i sang You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban as my toast to them. my mom is convincing me to sing at my wedding. i dont know if it's appropriate to sing at my own wedding, but now more and more people keep asking if im going to sing to my FH. so now im thinking about it. the only problem is i dont know what song! lol at first i was thinking Come Away With Me by Norah Jones (I don't have a very high voice). any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions, but 'You Raise Me Up' by Josh Groban is our wedding song. It's beautiful. I have to keep listening to it, to up my tolerance to NOT cry.

How about James Taylor...How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You? Just a thought from the top of my head. Or maybe something Celene Dion.

Re: Song to sing...
I am having the same issue!!!!! I am a wedding band singer so everyone keeps asking me what I am going to sing... grrrrr.....I figured I HAVE to sing so I have narrowed it down to a few choices. Not sure if you are having a band or DJ but maybe this will help:
If I Ain't Got You - Alicia Keys Song for You - by Donnie Hathaway/Ray Charles/ Christina Ag....a bunch of people have recorded this. Feeling Good - by Nina Simone & remade by Michael Buble. Would be very fun if you have aband with horns. Best of My Love - The Emotions (a fun upbeat one - might be high though)
I am SOOO Burnt out on singing At Last & Wonderful World at EVERY wedding but you might not be. Look into the Eva Cassidy version of What A Wonderful World. It's very nice. She also does a REALLY nice version of Songbird by Fleetwood Mac.
If you have a lower range, maybe consider something by a guy like Ben Harper. 'Forever' is beuatiful.' So if 'Happy Ever After in Your Eyes' and 'Not Fire Not Ice.'
I love the Nora Jones song. She has a new CD out this week so see if there is anything good on there.
FM me if you need more help. Like I said, I'm a wedding singer so I have lists of hundereds of good songs for weddings
GL!

Re: Song to sing...
my sister is singing at my wedding as i walk down the isle ...shes singin my everything by mary j blidge ...it jus says wat i feel
You are my everything You are my everything You, my everything Everything, everything, everything (vs.1) It's all because of you I'm never sad and blue You brighten up my day In your own special way Whenever you're around I'm never feeling down You are my trusted friend On you i can depend
(bridge) You take me away From the pain And you bring me paradise And when there were cloudy Days you brought sunshine in my life It never occurred To me the first time i saw your face I would fall so deep in love That your love can't be replaced
Chorus: You are my everything (you are my everything) Love so good, so good only you can bring You are my everything You are everything And everything is you
(vs.2) My darling only you Can make my dreams come true And every night i pray You'll never go away I promise i will try Until the day i die To treat you like a king Cause you are my everything
(bridge)
(chorus)
You are everything And everything is you (repeat 4x's)
When you're lovin me Put your lovin arms around me When you're lovin me Said i feel so safe i found security When you're lovin me Forever i want you home with me My everything My every every every everything
(chorus)
You take me away

Re: Song to sing...
Oh man, I'm in the same boat. Getting extreme pressure from the family to sing. I don't want to sing at my ceremony though- too emotional. IF I do- it would be a reception. I haven't a CLUE what to sing!! I don't think I want to!
