I think it all depends. I HAD to use a mandatory florist so Spitz & Peck knew they were the cheapest of my other options and essnetially didn't have to wow me.

That being said, I told them what I needed and what my budget was and they did come in with my budget. Of course, Burtons was going to give me way more for the same money but I digress (ggrrr.)

My suggestion is to go in and have a specific list of what you need/want along with a budget. You can get their input on design and flowers, but if you come in without a budget, I think they will be less inclined to stay below it.

Does that make sense?

I am also using Spitz & Peck, and I have to say, they were very accomodating. I was also required to use the house vendor for Florists, and the list was pretty short. I had heard everyone saying how expensive they were, and I was leery of meeting with them at first. I met with Richard, and before anything else, he asked me my budget. (No other florists I met did) I told him $2K, and he didn't even blink an eye. (I know that is very low for them). He said, ok great, lets see what we can do. I felt very comfortable with him, and he had such enthusiasm. I am so excited about finalizing the details with them. PS- I met him at the Huntington location.

I'm using Spitz and Peck too - we just met with them for finals on Saturday. They really do work well with you and are very accommodating. I gave them my budget and even though we are adding more than we initally did, he is still working in that. Plus, he helped me pick out an amazing bouquet and guided us throughly through the centerpieces. I'll have a full vendor update in 4 weeks. I can't believe it!

I went to Spitz and Peck and they asked me what my budget was. I said under 2,000 and he said ok we will see what we can do for you and then came back and said we can do this for a budget of $2900!!!! That was 1,000 more than most of the other florists!!! I told my FH about all of you going in with a budget and having them be really good about staying within the budget, we were really disappointed But, I am glad you were all able to get something within your budgets!! I guess I will just still look for florists!

I want to add that I think each location is very different. Ive heard some really great things about the LI locations while Ive heard not so great things about my NYC location.

It also depends on who you get as your rep.
