Sonoma Grill in Holbrook - Review
Yesterday I went to my cuz' sweet 16 at Sonoma Grill. She had the private room. When we got there, there was no soda or glasses or even water, that came a few minutes later- not really a big problem except I was thirsty. The party started at 6, and I got there at 5 to 6 and they weren't totally finished setting up the room.
The Food: My sister had her rehearsal dinner there too and had almost the same menu. Started off with bread and oil followed by stuffed mushroom caps, wings and fried mozzerralla (sp), and vege nacho tray. The mushrooms and cheese were great- as always. For dinner they had a bunch of choices- penna ala volka, pasta with sausage (my BIL had this - he liked it), chicken parm - the best on LI, its so tasty, chicken franchese, eggplant parm, salmon (wasn't the greatest). Also a choice of salad- mixed green- yummy, spinach- came w/ blue cheese- yuck, and cesear. For desert there was canoli, icecream or cake I think. They printed up menus that had 'Jennifer's Sweet 16' and the date- it was nice. They did the same for my sister.
I believe the price was very reasonable if you wanted to have shower or rehearsal dinner here. Once the cup issued was resolved, the service was great. Since we were in the private room and could control it it didn't matter, but if you are in the main dinning room you could hear the music- my sis had a guy/band- he was okay- yesterday they had Kareoke (sp)- it was bad- very bad. My sister had privacy type half-walls so we were separate but you could still here it.
