Yo... if ANYONE, family or not, insulted me before my dad died i'd never talk to them ever again. I think your being overly kind by even inviting him.

I sympathize. I already had to cut my guest list down by eliminating a lot of +1 or and guest. Try not to let it get you down. People are always going to complain!
