Soo many questions!

Hi Ladies! I am an out of town bride, having a long island wedding bc my fh is from the island. We have been trying to decide where to have it and finally choose ny.

Now that I am reading some of the posts on here I feel so behind. We are thinking a winter 2011 wedding. Has anyone used or are using a wedding planner? I am thinking this might be helpful for me since I am clear down in Florida but am worried about the cost.

Also, is anyone having their wedding at the vanderbuilt mansion at college?

I haven't used a wedding planner but I here Dazzling Affairs is great (could be wrong, but I think her name is Francesca?)

Here is the link to what their full service planning includes.

The Vanderbilt Mansion is gorgeous!! To have your ceremony there, there is a 1,500 fee and I was quoted on a Thursday in the summer $100 per person. They don't cater to small weddings though. I think you need at least 80 people and they'd prefer over 100 people.

Re: Soo many questions!

hey! I'm out of town also, although I'm not as far as FL, but I've seen a review or two of people that lived in FL and planned from NY, so it can be done! I don't think the bride I'm thinking of had a wedding planner, maybe just a DOC....but if you want one, I'm sure they will make it so much easier for you.
When I first found this site and I saw how much people have booked already for 2011, I got completely overwhelmed and totally started stressing myself out - don't worry! There is plenty of time and you can get it all done!
I checked out the Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling and its very pretty!! Have you seen it yet? I personally don't know of anyone that's gotten married there or that's been to a wedding there, but I think there are a few reviews on the review board bc that's one place I was considering. Good luck and let us know if you have ?s. Everyone is really helpful!

Re: Soo many questions!

I'm not using a wedding planner because it's an expense that I don't find necessary for myself because I live on Long Island. In your situation I think it would probably be very helpful.

The only thing I have booked so far is my RH. Don't get overwhelmed you still have plenty of time. Plenty of people plan a wedding in a year or less, so if you start looking into things or booking things now you'll just be ahead of the game.
