I just got pulled over on my lunch break for a BS reason!! The cop said I didn't stop at a stop sign that I did stop at!!!
He said 'Is there any reason you didn't stop?'
I said 'I did Stop!'
Then I couldn't find the stupid registration so he took my liscense and insurance to the car and told me to wave my registration out the window when I find it. I was consumed with not getting a ticket for the registration thing too, so I didn't say 'Well, my fiance is a fireman' or 'My brother-in-law is a cop in the NYPD' I don't think that works, but FH is always telling me to say it if I ever get pulled over.
Anyway, he took 20 minutes to write the ticket then I said again 'You're giving me a ticket for something I didn't do'
He said He'll see me in court if I fail to respond, I said I can't wait.
Then as he was walking away I yelled 'i thought cops were supposed to be honest.'
He told me to keep going and he'll make it worse...so I just left and made sure to stop for about 30 seconds at every stop sign while he was behind me.
FHs uncle is an SCPD officer, and he said he's going to try to take care of it...
If you guys knew me, you'd know that for me to speak like that to anyone, let alone a cop, I'd have to be REALLY angry and upset.
So angry...had to vent...sorry so long.

Re: SOOO ANGRY!!!
sorry to hear that he was such a jerk!!!! FFIL is retired but he was a deputy inspector in the NYPD (in charge of 400 cops!! .....so the first time I got pulled over I didn't say anything to the cop until he came back to the car with the ticket......then he said, oh I'm sorry but you should've told me earlier. Then he said to tell FFIL he said sorry, so he really sounded sincere or maybe even scared lol.
Another time I got pulled over and this time I was trying to be smart and I mentioned FFIL right away......but this guy was a real jerk and he said well do you have any proof on you, like his business card?? And I said no, and then he lectured me about it, but at least he didn't give me the ticket!! Ya never know if they're going to let you slide or not......I hope yours gets taken care of though!!!

I'm soooo sorry that happened to you. I hate when cops let the job go to their head. I have been in a couple incidents where the cop was very rude. It's hard when its your word against there

Re: SOOO ANGRY!!!
aww...that stinks!! what a jerk!
next time...i know it sounds weird..but DON'T mention FDNY to the cop. i know it might sound silly, but i wouldn't be surprised if he gave you the ticket cause you said FDNY....cops and firefighters kind of have a bit of a rivalry.
either way he was just being a loser. it's approaching the end of the month, they need tix!

Re: SOOO ANGRY!!!
I had a simailr issue. The same cop by my house kept pulling me over for crap reasons. I never got a ticket since usually it was to tell me what a nice stop I made at the stop sign. But other times it was to tell me to put on the seatbelt that I was already wearing. The cop prob pulled you over to hit on you and then saw the ring so he wrote you a ticket. Don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for cops but a few bad apples do overuse their power.

I'm so glad you said that..lol.
I was thinking about how I couldn't wait to get back to work and rant-- then I remembered 'Officer Day Day' and I thought-- I hope I don't insult anyone!
I like cops--really. Most of the time anyway!
Where was the cop this morning when I stopped at the SAME stop sign on the opposite side and the guy behind me thought I was too slow and flew around me?!?!!? (Almost hitting a car with a child in it!)
Drives me crazy...
Anyway, thanks for the support ladies!

Re: SOOO ANGRY!!!
It's not really relevant but a funny story none the less.
I got pulled over by my crimal justice professor in college who was in the PD. He took my lic and reg then stared at me and said ' Your in my Tuesday night class and I said Yes'. He let me go (I was in FH's car and his tints we too dark ....I know of all the things) and wouldnt look at me in the face in class for the rest of the semester!
Just though it would brighten your day!
BTW, was this cop in Lindy? If so, let me know where and I'll be sure to avoid that area!!

Re: SOOO ANGRY!!!
Ugh. I hate when cops do that. There's a cop that always hangs out at the end of my block. And he's pulled me over before. He said the same thing.. I was like 'I knew you were there, your ALWAYS there. do you think I would go through it?' He rode my *ss for like a mile after that.
Another time, another cop pulled me over for doing 42 in a 30.. woohoo! speed demon he went to write me a ticket, and when he came back I said you know I know 'Srgt. ***' and he all but turned white. He was like why the heck didn't you tell me that before? He's like sh*t! hahahahahah mess w/ me cop.. I dare ya
