sorry - another bf question

Hope you guys don't mind another breastfeeding question. It all seems so touch and go...

As you know I am to supplement Sophie for 3 feedings a day. Dr. wants her to have 2 oz of formula or breastmilk after these feedings. Well I have been able to pump out at least two of them, and have done formula for the third...but the baby seems very cranky now. Am I pumping away her supply? I try to do it about an hour before I think she's going to wake up to want to eat....not alwasy the easiest thing to determine, and she's still staying for around 15 minutes each side, but she seems hungry after, and if it's not one of the times I am giving her a bottle of supplement, she just seems so unsatisfied.

I am going to try to pump after she's done - as per Misha's advice. Then at least I know she ate her share, and maybe it will slow down the process, and I'll get even less collected, but she won't be suffering.

It's all so complicated! Any word on this? Advice?

I would definitely pump AFTER Sophia has nursed....she very well could be frustrated by a lack of milk in the boobie. And, pumping after she eats will just generate more of a demand on your supply, so you will likely not need the formula soon!

Keep up the great work, Jenny! I know this part can be trying, but you are doing so great!!!

ps - you also have FM!

I will take this advice! I guess I just have to use the formula in small portions for the time being. I think I might be able to get 6 oz today though - I seem to be a little more full than usual! I will pump after she feeds - I guess it's better than her crying!
