since we have pre cana this friday and saturday, ive been searching the boards to try and get some feedback. I have been seeing that a lot of couples had to take the FOCCUS (spelling ) test prior to pre cana. i dont recall our priest saying anything about taking FOCCUS. Is it determined by the priest or diocese or something? do all couple have to take it prior to completing pre cana?
im nervous now that what if i missed the whole FOCCUS conversation and we have to take it before pre cana and yada yada, the $195 fee goes down the drain.
any one take pre cana at the brooklyn diocesan facility? the friday (two hours) and saturday (9-5) classes? Did you take the FOCCUS test Friday???
im confused!

As far as I know I do not think there is a particular order in which precana and foccus need to be done. We did Foccus first but it just worked out that way. I have known plenty of girls who did it the other way around. I would call you church to see if you need foccus just to make sure.

Our church is in Brooklyn and when first met with the priest, we filled out all the appropriate paperwork we were then separated and asked a series of questions. At that meeting the priest put us in the book. After that was pre-cana. I have never heard of FOCCUS until I came on LIW.
I just read your post again and realized your parish is in Brooklyn and Brooklyn parishes do not require FOCCUS. We took pre-cana at St. Rosalia after meeting with the priest.
