What, if anything are you suppose to bring in terms of paperwork when you attend precana? I received a postcard today confirming my date for precana and it didn't say to bring anything. The reason that I'm asking is because a friend told me that you have to bring your baptismal certificate, confirmation certificate, etc. I knew you needed all that stuff but I (maybe foolishly) thought that you just gave that to the church a while before the wedding date. Thanks!

Re: SORRY, ANOTHER PRECANA QUESTION
We didn't need anything. The certificates you mentioned are usually turned in to the church, but not at pre-cana. Hope this helps!

Re: SORRY, ANOTHER PRECANA QUESTION
no - you don't need any of that for pre-cana. You bring your registration to pre-cana and when you complete it, they will give you a certificate of completion that you give to your priest when you meet with him. At that point, you give him the copies of your baptismal certificate.
ETA: Call your church and FH's church. They know exactly what to send you - it's a certificate that has the dates of each sacrament you both made.

Re: SORRY, ANOTHER PRECANA QUESTION
I handed in my Precana registration in the beginning of July and they havent contacted me yet! Should I be concerned considering I only have 6 months left?

Re: SORRY, ANOTHER PRECANA QUESTION
when we went to my church and spoke to the priest, he took our original baptismal certificates...he said he has to get in touch with both of the parishes we were baptised in, and they have them in our wedding file...I will get the originals back..won't I?? Do we need these..or will he just update these with the rest of our sacraments?? because I know he was going to get in touch with FH's church.... does this sound right???? Also when I called and told them we were doing pre-cana, they said to just bring the certificate and they would keep it in our'file'???

Re: SORRY, ANOTHER PRECANA QUESTION
whichever church your getting married in you need an original(not photocopy) of your baptism certificate sent over from church you were baptised in. updated with when you received the rest of the sacrements..you have to call up and ask them for it

Re: SORRY, ANOTHER PRECANA QUESTION
At my Church, they told me just to bring the registration slip for pre-cana. We have to bring the baptismal certificates to our Church but they have to be dated less than 6 months from your wedding date. So we are giving that to him later on.
