Sorry but this is fresh so i must vent

My favors were a DIY project that i painstakingly dedicated alot of time, efffort, thought (did i say TIME) into. When we dropped off, I explained to BM that i wanted the one favor per placecard. I counted and marked the boxes they were in so I KNOW there were extras and i decided to leave in the bin (just in case one broke etc...) and i would take home later that night. Sure enough - my in laws took home our leftover favors, cake, flutes etc. since we were going to a hotel. A couple of days later the bin comes back and there are only 2 favors in it. I was LIVID. I called the hall to ask where the missing 12 favors are and was told they had no idea. The BM I had dealt with was off duty until this past weekend. I called AGAIN on Sat. and left another message, no call back. Third phone call today and nothing. Now i'm fuming - DH tipped him that nite too (why i don't know?!).

When we had a cancellation 2 days before, we told him and he said there's no refunds etc but any no shows they would pack the meals and send with us. We never saw it.

I had also asked him to give a copy of the invitation to the photo/video guys when they arrived and they never them to them either. Meanwhile, they 'expect' these tips for exceptional service. We tipped Maitre D, Bridal Attendant, Staff, and Banquet Manager and the few things i really needed done weren't done. I regret that i did not realize this until 'after the wedding' i left there happy thinking things were fine. I even GAVE them each one of my favors (i did not know there were only 4 left)!!!! I made 120 of them by myself!!! What do to?

I'm sorry that you are missing some favors, but honestly, what were you going to do with them anyway. I can understand that you are upset, but I really think that this is one of those things that you just need to let slide. It was a slip up on the part of the BM, but there's really nothing that can be done now.

i understand you wanted to give a favor to some ppl as a memento--but i think you might be over reacting just a teeny bit. maybe some DID break and they threw out the ones that did. or maybe they wound up putting all the favors out and some ppl took more than one. maybe your IL's might have taken an extra favor or two and when they saw your reaction about there being only 2 favors left, they didn't want to say anything.

there are plenty of reasons--i don't think it's a favor conspiracy against you! i would just let it go..there's no sense in calling about some favors. JMHO.

lol - 'favor conspiracy' - i like that... i re-read my own post and admit to sounding a bit dramatic Its prob just my own silly way of 'holding on' to our day... Anyway, good news is they left me a message last nite saying they found 4 additional favors and we can stop by to pick them up whenever we'd like....

I realize they prob did accidentally put them all out.

I think what might have had you so frustrated wasnt so much the actual favors but the feeling of disrespect or lack of regard for how much love and work you put into them, only to have them disregarded.
I can totally understand that.

and in that one small sentence, you have your answer...at the end of the day, you were married and had a wonderful time. the favors, they mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. it's possible, they put extras out and they were taken, it's possible some broke and they even found 4 more.
