Sorry - dumb computer lingo question

How do you indicate the difference between LOL - laugh out loud -- this guy or LOL - lots of love - or is it context?

i guess it would depend on the situation of the poster. if someones pet died, i don't think many of us here would say lol and if someone posted about how they walked out of the ladies room with their skirt tucked in, i don't think many would write lol , but you never know!

i guess its the way the person addressses it. I am not sure.
